It doesn’t impress me much
04.05.26 Stoic Poetry #247
It doesn’t impress me much;
the extravagance of bloating wardrobes
the shine on a new car
even travel for travel’s sake,
collecting passport stamps like they’re Pokemon cards…
I don’t desire a house with thirteen bathrooms
or a jaguar gathering dust in the garage,
leave me in peace to collect real people’s stories
of resilience, humility and courage,
and I’ll do my best to spin them into poems.
