Putting tension in the string

If you’re here, you know my target
is to be a full time typewriter poet.
I know I won’t get there on a wish, and a hope,
so every day, I draw back my bow,
every Friday working on my dream,
every time I show up at a market to get my message seen,
every time I feel cringe, putting my work online,
every sacrifice I make, to have more poetry time,
puts tension in the string
as the bullseye comes into sight
one day soon I’ll let go
set my dreams on their flight.
